Last night we hosted a modest fundraiser for Jessica Peterson. She's running for State Senate in a district that is not ours, but she was in the Humphrey Institute Policy Fellowship with Curt and she's a county commissioner so, in a way, Curt works for her (for another 3 days). I didn't get to talk to her a lot, but what I heard made me very happy to have opened up our house to her. Katie Sieben stopped by, too. You may recall that we've marched in a parade or two for her, though she's not in our district, either. It gives me hope to see these strong, intelligent (and fun!) women leading our state.
On a personal note, the evening revealed that Loyd (10) is actually getting old. Curt dropped him off at Stephanie and Bob's house for a playdate with Bodhi (5) and Lola (~2). Stephanie reported that initially Lola seemed very angry that there was another dog in her house and Loyd cried at the door hoping Curt would come back to get him right away. After a few minutes of worry, Stephanie let Lola off her leash and she and Loyd became fast friends. Bodhi seemed relieved to have a break from entertaining his little sister and took it easy while Loyd and Lola careened around the house for a few hours. When Bob and Stephanie brought him home, Loyd was so tired he didn't even try to steal cheese and sausage off the table. Our pup is exhausted, and a little sore. A big thanks to S, B, B & L for making sleeping in easy this morning. Too bad it wasn't a Saturday.

Bodhi and Lola are already wondering when Loyd is coming back. We say anytime, anytime, anytime!
