Sunday in the Park with FiG

I work near the MN Landscape Arboretum and manage to wander over there now and then. A couple of weeks ago, I went for a walk at lunch w/my boss and there were irises like I've never seen before and the peonies were getting ready to pop. So, with an extra day of weekend, I asked my niecely FiG and her mama if they wanted to take a trip West to see the flowers.

We did see a lot of gorgeous flowers, but we missed the big peony garden. Turned out the best part was the fountains.

After getting the little one thoroughly soaked, we wandered around the hosta glade and visited the spring peepers' pond (they've calmed down since late April, but at least one frog was chirping).

FiG got hungry and was enticed back into the stroller with goldfish crackers. While MoD and I marvelled at flowers...

We finished up with lunch in the cafeteria and headed home. I don't know how FiG stayed awake in the car. I ran a couple of errands and then took a two hour nap this afternoon.
